Born deaf on September 26, 1958, Mrs. Londa Furman (nee Campbell) was miraculously healed when she was almost 5 years old. Knowing God loved her enough to heal her, she chose to believe totally in Him as her own Savior and has served Him ever since. After her healing, her family joyfully worked as missionaries to the Navajo Indians in New Mexico for over 15 years. Shortly after that, she married her husband, Michael. They have been happily married for almost 31 years and are blessed with 5 living children and five grandchildren. As a matter of fact, she began teaching children at church when she was 12 years old.
Mrs. Furman has taught her own children and those of other families for over 33 years now in both home school and Christian school settings. She also taught High School via the internet to Gideon A. Sarpong in Accra, Ghana, who subsequently graduated from the University of Ghana. The Furmans are founders and directors of Freedom’s Hope Ministry, Inc. where they have had the privilege of putting Isaiah 58 and James 1:27 into practice on a daily basis. All their children have graduated from school in a homeschool setting. The older two of their children are married with families of their own. Mr. and Mrs. Furman lived in northwest Arkansas for most of their married lives. They moved to North Idaho in 2005, a move which they believed allowed them to do more ministry work without negative interference. Mrs. Furman delights in helping children get to know Jesus and develop a personal relationship with Him, in conjunction with teaching them their academics. She has taught English online for Webworks for the past 6 years. In addition, she has taught American Sign Language (ASL), both online and in class room settings for more than 35 years. She holds a BA degree in Sociology with a concentration in Bible from Evangel University in Springfield, MO. She is also the holder of a diploma from The Institute of Children’s Literature in West Redding, CT. One of her favorite things is getting the opportunity to use her Sign Language abilities to teach others how to minister to the deaf and to get the chance to do so herself. She thoroughly enjoys praising the Lord in sign.
Michael Furman was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA in 1958. At the moment, he lives with his wife Londa in Northern Idaho, has helped raise five children (all adults presently), and has five grandchildren. Mr. Furman retired from a career in photography in 2005. Currently, he is a minister of the Gospel and a nutritionist. Mr. Furman enjoys doing ministry work with Londa at Freedom’s Hope Ministry, Inc. Freedom’s Hope Ministry, Inc. is a non-profit non-denominational ministry giving encouragement and monetary support to indigenous missionaries in more than thirty-five countries around the world. Since the Furmans and other personnel are volunteers; 100% of all donations received go to the actual need specified by the donors. Nothing is subtracted for administration costs. Mr. Furman is delighted to serve the Lord in any capacity called upon to do. He has a servant’s heart, and is gifted in administration, helping those in need, and teaching.
